Was recommended this film after (finally) reading the Lewis Carroll classic. I have to say I’ll probably remember this far better than the original story. Švankmajer takes the small hints of unkindness in the character of Alice and takes it up to 11; the world we’re presented is equally fascinating and disturbing; and the white rabbit will haunt me forever.
